It has a ridge plate dating from 1721, making it the oldest private house in the prefecture with a clear construction date. The recently restored building has a splendid thatched roof and a three-room hall-style floor plan, with a large earthen floor containing a ``Kamado'' and ``Umaya.'' There are ``irori'' cut between the boards, and traditional Ogawa washi paper is used for the shoji screens, preserving the appearance of a traditional private house. Nationally designated important cultural property.
